Hey,
Anyone know a rough figure for a cheap respray job in Melbourne? Looking at buying an old Range Rover as an offroad hack, only problem with the one i have seen is it's a revolting shade of gold.

Wondering how much the most basic of resprays to a nice sedate dark green/blue would likely be if i did all the masking etc on it myself?

Not too bothered about it being a spectacular job, just something that wouldn't require me to wear a fur coat and large medalion when driving it.

Cheers

Do you have access to a shed and compressor? If it really is a bush roughy, and you're doing the hard part (prep & masking) yourself, then why not have a go at spraying it yourself? I would, perfect opportunity for practice on something that doesn't need to be perfect.

A couple of cans of matt black paint and a roller are your friends.
Minimal prep time, minimal paint time and minimal drying time and no special equipment.

Its pretty hard to make a mess of it and the paint is cheap. If you trash it off roading its not hours of work down the drain and all you need to do is get your can of paint out again and touch it up.

If you want a 'proper' spray job I have seen advertised in the free classifieds in Perth resprays for $600 for Falcodore sized cars...I have also seen the results...All they do is slap newspaper over your windows and wheels, give the thing a once over with some sandpaper and cut looses with whatever colour is left over...even the badges and tyres get painted biggrin
