New (used) TVR Import Project
Discussion
Hi Folks
In a nutshell, I would like your candid opinions on importing a TVR.
In 1999, I bought a unique TVR - a factory 'Motor Show' Cerbera which was bloody awesome, life took a different turn and 6 months later I found myself on my way to Aus having to leave it behnd to be sold. Loving it here but very frequently have found myself thinking about TVRs.
On and off, I've kinda looked at it but it all looked too bloody difficult to be honest.
Decided to look further and would like to possible import (in order of preference): -
Cerbera
Tuscan
Chim
Griff
Cerb & Tusc ( Because they're newer) but clearlyu the donk may be more problematic here for parts etc?!?!?
Chim & griff because th'y're older hence already seen here, so assume the infrasructure exists somehwere
I guess, i don't know whwre to start really; do i just approach a RAW?
I have too many questions to list to be honest: -
Servicing & Maintenance (Chim and Griff wouldn't be as bad as the AJP donks I assume)?!?!
Are the AJP engines too problematic to be 13k miles from the UK
The heat (esp with regard to a Cerb)
Import duties (i think they are massive right) but these motors are cheap in the UK now.
Would appreciate it if you could respond and maybe share your thoughts on this via RAW.
Cheers
Innes (Thommo or Haggis).

There's a thread already running on the issues with importing
http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&a...
Most of the info you need is there, but I would imagine that it is a non-starter...

That sux!!!!I thought the RAW scheme looked 'easy' but I missed the extortionate cost to get the license for the 1st one; bugger!!!
Thanks for the 'heads-up'.
