2Bular Exhaust
Discussion
have just ordered a stage 2 7" exhaust from Jim Valentine at 2Bular. Should have it in 3 weeks. I'll be fitting it to a 2004 111R along with a hurricane induction kit. I'm in the UK. Question - I will be eventually moving back to Sydney with the Liz - will it pass rego inspection for noise?
I think it depends on your inspector to be honest....there never seems to be any consistency to the inspections.
For example when my MR2 came in to the country it was found to be bang on the legal minimum ride height until the inspector decided to ask his fat mate to sit in it which put it 4mm to low. I got rather pissed off as this did not seem to be a consistent or accurate system of deciding if the car is legal. When it came to the noise emissions the did the test 6 times which it passed all but once so they failed it...personally I think if it only failed once the test was done incorrectly!
Also keep in mind that just because it passed its rego inspection doesnt mean you wont get any hassle from the boys in blue.
Even with all the relevant certificates (which you obviously keep a copy of in your car) the popo can still stick a yellow sticker (a canary) on your windscreen and send you off for another inspection just on the suspicion that your car might not be road leagal...just make sure you know who is arround you before making any noise!!
