Hi All,

I have seen this advertised for sale in UK and seeing as though it's made in AUS was wondering if anyone one here has tried this or know if it is any good?

I have been building these active systems for about 7 years and recently joined up with hyperflow to market the concept. If you want a high performance exhaust that is quiet and drone free in cruise and part throttle modes then you will appreciate it. Many expensive high performance cars and bikes are using similar technology. Many of my customers praise it highly. It gives you total control over the exhaust. There is a good description of it,s operation on the hyperflow website. It will be interesting to see the reaction in the U.K. Anyway if you have any questions , email me . Cheers Kevin.

That sounds just what I'm looking for to control blow-through on the supercharger. How much do they cost?

There's a problem with positive displacement blowers which produce boost at very low rpm - with no back pressure in the exhaust, the charge p!sses straight through the chamber during the overlap period so you loose power, and get a very hot exhaust. Not a problem with turbos or the centrefugal type blowers. Back pressure is bad for power the rest of the time, but at low rpm / full throttle, it can be useful to add a few psi of back pressure. Having an electrically controllable 'noise' control could be handy in its own right, of course.

Can you give me any indication at all of the price - are we talking tens or hundreds of dollars?

Using an active exhaust kit, if you have an after-market E.C.U. with R.P.M. switching capability then you can do it easily.E.G it can be set up to run an additional bacpressure to say 3500 rpm and opens fully on say 100% T.P.S. every parameter being fully adjustable. I made a prototype R.P.M. switch which stands alone and did exactly what you are describing on my rather ancient but very grunty V8 , LJ , Torana with a very lumpy, mechanical cam and the car definitely became nicer in the low and mid range. Email sales@hyperflow.com.au for prices.Cheers Kevin.

Been reading up on this for a litle while but I can't seem to find any data on how much noise is actually reduced?

We did a static N.S.Wales E.P.A. test on a wrx with a rather noisy 3" straight through system and when in operation we were 10 d.b,s quieter with the active system.

Bringing back a thread from the dead, does anyone have any updaes or has read anything about this system?

Might be keen for my Forester XT but can't find any feedback about it?
