HP IPAQ 6515 PDA PHONE WITH GPS

I'm about to get one of these on a business contract, but nobody at Telstra is able to tell me how it works . From what little they have told me I need to subscribe to their Sensis nav service, then download map info via gprs connection. Is this correct? Can't I just get the map data on a disc & copy it to a SD card for the pda?
