Hi Anthony

There are 2 Cerbs that I know of in Aust and I always watch the national ads with interest so far as TVR trading is concerned.

Much as I am enjoying getting out and about with the lid off in my Chim 500 right now, it may be time to free-up some invested funds in the beast.

Please drop me a line if you'd like to know a little more about the Cerbs over here, living with a TVR in Australia, or my chariot.

Cheers

I imported my T350 into Victoria in June. Bringing the car in and getting it registered was not difficult, just time consuming and a bit expensive. Having spoken to other TVRCC members over here it seems I was very lucky as I got the car registered with no modifications to meet the Australian Design Rules. Certainly the Chim's and Griff's all seem to have to be modified to some extent. I believe the Cerb will require modification to the rear Seat Belt anchors, brake hoses if they are braided, exhaust may be too noisy etc.
If you are coming to Vic then I can put you in touch with the chaps that did the road worthy and inspection on mine.

Cheers

Hi Bob,
Thanks for your info. The car will imported into Queensland and registered there so state rules apply.I have built a few kit cars in the past in Queensland and am lucky enough to know a good and lenient mechanical engineer who has complied them so hopefully i will be lucky like yourself.
Regarding servicing your T350 have you a mechanic who is tvr friendly.
I am sure you have had a positive reaction to your car with many admiring glances as it is such a unique beast in australia.
Cheers
Anthony

Well, I am sure there are many places very capable of servicing the T350 but I'll be doing it myself as much as possible anyway.

My wife doesn't like to go out in the T350 anymore, every time we stop for petrol it draws a crowd! I reckon the Cerb will do the same.

The first time my girlfriend and i went for a drive in my porsche 356 speedster in country Queensland she complained that everyone was looking at her and felt slightly vulnerable especially with the roof down.It seems like we have to endure driving these rare beasts alone.
When driving the cerbera my girlfriend only allows me to drive at 70-80 mph as anything over that it is noisy and she feels unsafe but needless to say she is german and has no hesistation cruising the autobahns at over 100mph in her renault espace.

Don't talk about it, do it. We have been deprived of nice machinery in this country for too long. You will have to put up with lots of evil looks from the rice burner crowd though, when they have to suffer a feeling inferiority. We have plenty of people who can maintain anything worth having.
