Melbourne for F1 in November help req'd
Discussion
My wife and I are looking to do the once in a lifetime Aussie tour in November. Covid permitting.
So far the plan is Nov 1st, UK > Adelaide, rent motorhome and a mini tour to be in Melbourne for Nov 15th.
The reason for this post
I've tried Googling sites to park up for the GP week as close to the circuit as practical, but struggling and don't want to find on arrival it's a dump. Any locals give me a few tips, recommendations etc please ?
I'm hoping to maybe rent a scooter or similar for the week so that we can get around, so closeness to the Park is not absolute.
After that we will head up to Brisbane to leave early January...but we'll just wing that leg of the tour.
Appreciate your help,

Appreciate your help,
I think you’ll struggle to find one close to the circuit, land down there is worth a fortune so nobody will be using it for a caravan park.
Big 4 have a good reputation (as far as I know) and there is one of those in Coburg (north side of the city). It looks like it is a couple of km from the tram and the train.
Don’t bother with a scooter - there are road closures and resident only bits when the race is on. Use public transport instead - the trams go straight to the circuit from the CBD.

I'd suggest staying on the fringes of the city and simply commuting in, or treat yourself to a hotel for a few nights. The infrastructure for the race is really good - tram station literally at the main entry point, extra trams and busses running, dedicated Uber pick up points. No need for a scooter unless you simply want to use one - transport around the city generally is good, and you won't be able to use it at/near the track.
Bigger question might be whether you're allowed to enter Austalia at all in November, and similarly whether the race actually runs!
