After being fortunate enough not to have to go near a car dealers for the last 5 years it's that time again and already I'm dreading the experience as I'm not the most patient and started my working life (a looong time ago) as a car salesman at a Ford dealers in Chesterfield, England.

Anyhoo, does anyone have any experience of likely discounts on new, mainstream VW/Audis and Utes - I need one of each.

You may not get much at the moment as supply has been constrained since Covid, thus has pushed used car prices up and thus new prices are impacted by this.

I've used Private Fleet in the past - they were pretty good, and arranged the whole thing including delivery to my house. They put your requirements out to tender and select the cheapest for you. I think the first time you use them costs $1000, but if you're buying a couple of cars you might get that waived.

When I bought an i30 back in Feb, I tried Private Fleet again and the local dealer just matched them to get the sale. Worth a call IME.

If you have something to P/X you may get a better trade in, there’s a severe shortage of used cars passing through the trade at the moment.
