Folks,

Been up here in SE Asia for too long, time for a change of scenery and liking the idea of Aus as an option. (Quickly scrolled up to check I was posting in AUSTRALIA forum and not AUSTRIA ..... )

At this point not excessively fussed on location, but its going to be Sydney, Melbourne and Perth for my background I would imagine.

I work in IT as a Senior PM / Department Manager (doing Infra, Platforms, Datacenters, Cloud, BI etc) , SVP / Director'ish level (I say a bit vaguely as have been contracting for many years so it can be a bit of a tough box to nail down), and have done so across many sectors, O&G, Banking, Gov, VAR, PS, T&T etc

Anyone here got any recommendations for good recruitment agencies or actual names that I should be reaching out to as a starting point?

I figure that this will probably be a 1 year process to get my network and go through the various governmental hoops unless I am lucky and that one role falls from the sky.

PM me probably best if its an actual name being referred, better to protect the guilty wink

Ta muchly,

Bibbs

Most wont want to speak to you till you are here. When you are here they'll speak to you, but you wont find you anything.

All info on Seek or LinkedIn. Robert Waters "SalaryChecker" app is good for up to date rates.

Perth market is small, but with that, there are less competitors for roles.

Cheers,

Yea I know the "wont talk to you 'till you are here" thing, that needs a big sledge hammer to crack, but have managed before!

Good to know on Seek that I had hit the right site, and yup ... knocking on doors via LinkedIn.

Interesting that the SalaryChecker app is actually correct in AUS, usually pure fiction in Singapore / HK hehe

This might help fill some gaps in between getting here and finding a role:

https://www.upwork.com/

I'm on a working holiday visa so your experience of finding a job will be different than mine, I think you still have the possibility of being sponsored into a working visa from a tourist visa though. Generally Sydney is an easy place to find jobs as there's a massive market there. Once you put your CV on Seek the calls from agencies will start roling in...

That's a funky little website smile will have more of a look later.

Yes, have noticed that there is a fair bit of initial interest, its just breaking the Visa issue, same as anywhere when working overseas!

Cheers guys!
