So what's happening?

Bit quiet in here innit.
I've just got a new job, bought a British Bulldog, my 528 st itself on the freeway resulting in a $800 bill on a new radiator and seem to be intrigued by E63 M6's and Maserati Gransport but I'm just dreaming.
Anyone else?

Well me and the Girlfriend have been in Perth for the first 6 months of our working holiday visa, the other week bought a little Campervan and set off in an attempt to go the whole way round Oz, but we need to get our 88 days of farming work done first.
So we are at a little hobby farm in Albany, day 2..... Going to be a long 3 months!
been on the road 2 weeks and not got very far, but already seen amazing things, can't wait to get back moving again!

Got my Caterham on the road, only to find the starter motor is shagged. Had a new one sent from the UK. Before they sent it they upgraded me for free as the version I ordered was an older model. Took a while to come. It came, didn't fit. I slightly modified it, fitted it, it spins but doesn't engage to the flywheel. Bugger. Now I've a non compatible starter motor which I might have touched with a grinder slightly. All in, tits.
I've started college as my UK Plumbing qualifications stand for jack all here. Woo, apprentice here I am. Now looking for someone to take me on as a mature apprentice.
Girlfriends found similar hoops to jump through for her position as a teacher, so she has decided to work in a bakery for now!
An insurance claim is running after our shipped goods got damaged. That's slow a few things.
Kayaking's nice, the beach is nice, the weather is better. Not missing the UK so far. So, going well.

Got given a new role at work mid-October, so busy trying to learn that.
Managed to get up to Qld for a few days holiday at the end of Jan. It rained
Went to Picnic at Hanging Rock on Sunday. It didn't rain Will post up some pics at some point if anyone is interested.
Got to tour a car carrying ship today, which was interesting.
Going to Sydney for the day on Wednesday (work stuff).

Was going to go until I realised I was working. Simulatoring at work for the moment and been putting kms on a new toy up in that direction and trying to work out one of these new smart-telephones, took me a few years to convert. Got to tour a car carrying ship today, which was interesting.
Nothing on the job front since July '13, went back to Hong Kong Mar '14 until Nov '14, so have left Brisbane and am now in Wellington, NZ.
Wife trying to find work as a teacher, daughter still in University in Canberra, ACT.
Shipped the car (Astra SRi 2.2 manual) with the house hold stuff.
Loving the country so far, settling in at work.

Crazy busy at work and the same at home thanks to the arrival of our daughter 5 months ago.
Still plodding on in the Mazda 6 wagon, got caught on the Mitchell freeway for 3km/h over the limit AGAIN!
I'm dreaming of something with a bit of poke as the Mazda seems to have the most gutless 2.5 in existence, at the same time I'm looking at bigger SUVs such as the Mazda CX9 and Kluger but they're bloody expensive and what will I really gain by changing? Nothing really.
I must be getting old because I've lost that lovin feelin for cars. I'm happy to trundle along in the Mazda whilst taking satisfaction in its reliability and low running costs. I often think about getting an HSV wagon for a giggle but then I remember the speed cameras and traffic lights and that idea gets shelved pretty fast.
Planning on doing my HR truck driving licence in the next couple of months.
Had my credit card cloned last week - They spent $2600 in a restaurant in Canada.

Did this some years ago when buying and driving the HR fleet was part of my role. Just feels nice knowing that if I need to I can go back to truck driving, but on bigger stuff. As for other things, most of the time has been spent building up business for my own consultancy - had a great end to 2014, but the country goes to sleep for 6 weeks around mid-Dec, so its been a frustrating 2015 so far. Some good prospects and a couple of small wins but need more!
I reckon I need another 6 months fees before I can think about another car. Liberty still going well and seems to be just about the right size at the mo though I can see a time in a couple of years when something a bit bigger will be necessary. What to get then will depend on whether we can still all get along with 5 seats. The Forester seems to handle the 5 of us well for shorter trips too.
Still not getting enough mtb riding done though, which is a bit of an arse.
Haven't stuck my head in here for a while. Spent the summer back in the pool business (never thought I'd do that but needs must)
4th lunaversary coming up with the new lady, very happy there :-)
Job offer out of the blue last week as a project manager with a previous employer. Really looking forward to this, be great to exercise the brain again.
Haven't used my Commodore for months as I've had a company ute, my 2 bikes and M's car to go out in. Thinking of selling the car and both bikes, and replacing with a 'busa and a cheap MX5 project

The boy has resigned from the navy, & is moving into my granny flat tomorrow. That means the tuned 330 BHP 4.6L [Range Rover V8] Triumph TR8 will be following on a truck next week.
I didn't realise I would get so excited about this, but it is about two & a half years since he pinched the thing & I've really missed the throb of a big V8, exhausting through a couple of 2.5" pipes.

So how about a Perth get together? Preferably somewhere where you can park within walking distance for a change? ;-)
There's a good Irish bar in Joondalup that's within walking distance of Joondalup railway station, opposite a large car park and handy for those of us in the northern suburbs? Joondalup being the only railway station north of the city that's not in the middle of the freeway.200bhp said:

Do I need any vaccinations to go that far north?I am very quiet in here generally and in Adelaide I am busy in real life with the new house build (too hot to pour concrete this week), sorting a 75 series landcruiser ute for the farm, calving and wife due to calve on Tuesday!
lambchopski - if I can ask how much did you get for the m3, were there any issues as an import? I have a 2003 manual and have already placed a deposit for a new mustang that due at the end of the year.
If anyone is interested in a build thread I am tempted to put one up
