Not sure they could have made it any more bland at the back

Surely they won't sell any?

They barely sell any at the moment!

They've gone all "global design" at both ends in the hope that nobody notices when they replace it with the Mundaneo in 2016.

I think they sell a few hundred a month country wide at the moment, used to be thousands.

the FG X is not all that attractive and is obviously nothing but a face lift. Having said that I reckon there could be a bit of a bargin to be had, Ford are clearly emptying the parts bin and the XR8 is getting the Supercharged 5.0 Coyote (450BHP) engine, brembos, FPV suspension, diff etc for $52K.

The Falcon has never been the prettiest thing. The low point was the AU though. I bet that designer (and the guy who signed off on it) no longer work there.

You're right - they went over to Mercedes and designed the back of the CLS...

As for the Falcon, I quite like the understated look and find it more appealing than the chintzy-looking Commodore. However, both Ford and Holden cannot resist adding all sorts of styling tat on the sportier versions, which is a shame. I thought the BA 5.4XT was a great idea - just add the XR8 suspension for more fun.

Looks pretty much identical to the US market Fusion, I'd be thinking purposefully to align with global replacement model plans be it Mondeo or whatever they go with too.

Being kind to it you can see vague hint of Jag XF from the rear.

I think it's fantastic....boring enough to turn the punters away yet not completely ugly.

The result is that the XR8 will be selling for just over $40k new 6 months after its release instead of its list of $50k and therefore I can get 300+kw for little money.

Some good points - bargain indeed.

I like the front end - quite decent and better than the current one no doubt.

Indeed, and if it came as a properly developed wagon with a manual box, for $40-50k, I'd get one. I think Ford missed a trick in not continuing the wagon.

I think the front looks atrocious, the back looks typically Falcon plain.

Sat behind a new Jag yesterday that looked like this. XF I think it was.

So rear of a Jag, front of a Mustang. Wonder what the interior is?

It'll come with 300 dashboard stickers, non working aircon, 347,528kms on the clock and all the warning lights on lit up, especially the engine management and fuel low lights.

Beaded seat covers and rhino horn steering wheel options? And a tape deck and radio that only picks up *that* station?

I like it, pretty keen to get one. It's basically a FPV GT R-Spec for $55k

i do like the sound of the new coyote engines. cracking motor. 5 litres of capacity with 4 valve cylinder chambers has got to be a good thing.
