We've been looking around at some of Perth's finest rental properties in recent weeks. This one was a little gem!

Lovely kitchen.

Oven in farenheit only.

Nice cosy lounge.

Nice modern bathroom.

Yours for $480 per week!

Nothing wrong with a Fahrenheit oven, teaches you to be ambidextrous, but perhaps it should be law that colour blind people may not decorate houses.

You wouldn't get much more for the money in Brisbane, although out on the fringes where my kids were renting, the places were a bit newer, & the colour schemes somewhat more generic.

That is grim.

How about this http://www.realestate.com.au/property-house-nsw-me...

Or one of these http://www.realestate.com.au/property-unit-nsw-coo...

Bit more space plus a pool

Plus all reasonably close to warners at the bay, going on from previous threads.

So, get out of Perth and come east.

Although we are house hunting at the moment. Can't remember where exactly this is, but it is one very, ummmm, something bathroom

I moved very recently and was surprised (pleasantly) at how much rent has plummeted. Where 18 months ago, I'd turn up to a house viewing and have a crowd of 30 different people queuing out of the door and squabbling over 5 applications all offering 20 to 100 AUD a week more than the asking price to secure a place, this time I looked at 11 places and only came across 1 other couple at a house viewing.
Places we hadn't looked at previously as they were priced well out of our range had since come down 200 AUD a week and were now affordable without competing rental bidders. Brilliant.

Yea it has calmed down a lot in the last 11 months. Anything less than 500 p/w still has half a dozen couples but over that price and you can take your pick.

We just secured a 4x2 with sea view and massive garden for less than we pay now. All the agents at viewings said the rental market is dead at the moment.

But quite usual of the 70/80s houses. When we were buying we'd do all the open homes in an area and some you could just tell by the awful brickwork what the inside was like.

Why? There are nice places here too, and then we don't have to worry about traffic jams, overpopulation and Easterners.

This is the building that we rented in for 18 months. Was awesome.

Bwhaha! You were next door to some mates of ours. It is an impressive view out the back there, although I'm not sure if the R/C heli and plane pilots are super cool, or would become super annoying (with a hangover especially).
Main issue I had was the glass recycling at the casio at 5am on a Sunday. Didn't really see many RC stuff. More likely the proper helicopters doing the tourist flights (can't complain too much as I've been on the Freo run).

Also not sure how much of a view will be left once they build the new hotel tower (if they do, the local owners accociation are trying everything to get it cancelled).
