Holden no doubt about it. Drove an old Holden about 4 years ago when I was out in Oz visiting my relatives then you come back here and drive the equivalent Ford what a Mondeo or a Focus, no competition in my view. Ford Sieras for example only good for one thing, to be cut up and made into Kitcars!

they're both sh!te but then I'm biased

straight line, top of the range performance models destroy 3 litre Eurotrash but if a corner comes up it's all over for the trucks

Drove the latest commodore 2 months ago and it just felt like sitting in an echo chamber, but it was miles ahead of the Ford which felt like it had more power but I'm always wary of the electrics.

They are just taxi cabs after all

Get yourself a Subaru, Honda etc. Japanese cars are cheaper because they're made closer to Aus...

I am going for a Subaru Forrester with the Impreza WRX engine as standard!!

Both pretty crap - build quality is awful. Had a new Falcon about a year ago - and stuff started falling off in the first week. Oh yeah, 17mpg is not clever, and that's for the 'small' engine - 4.0-litre. XR6T is a fun cheap beast.

Everything else is either Euro or Jap sourced. The Holden Astra is the Euro version, the previous Astra was a Toyota. The Holden Barina is a Corsa, the previous version was a Suzuki. The Ford Focus is here, and so is the Fiesta, but the previous Festiva and Telstar/TX5 and others were all Mazdas. The Commodore is an Omega with bigger engines. And crap build quality. The Monaro may be an exception - reasonably well-built, and quite good fun. Esp CV8.

that doesn't look like a HoldOn or Fjord RJO.

I saw it at the Melb Motor Show and unfortunately for it , it was near the Pagani who had a stunning woman on the stand so it missed out on a lot of attention

Also it is too much money, for the asking price I can get a car with more class and heritage AND backup, but I do like the idea, we just don't have the population or the help from govt to export them to make it a going concern BUT I hope I am proved wrong.

Drove a HSV the other day, bloody fast and comfortable with the leather option but without the Brembo option the brakes melted with some fast driving.

I won't hop in a Fjord as I value my life too much to risk one of Henry's products (built to a price, not a standard) however I won't own either ....
