Every now and then I like to pop in to Classic Throttle Shop at North Sydney for a browse, a nose around and an ogle. Some lovely stuff seems to pass through there, and whilst much of it is way out of my potential price range, some of it is temptingly close. Usually find myself just browsing their website too - seeing whats coming in, whats been sold, checking out the photos.

Where else is worth a browse? Any garages or websites, without ruing how much cheaper things might be in other countries??!! What's your favourite?

I have browsed thru Classic Throttle Shop, nicely presented cars and whilst interesting for a browse I find the cars are overpriced.

Clayton Bespoke in Rose Bay is a similar set up.

In Melbourne there's "The Healey Factory" in Ringwood, always good for a wander round. Usually a great selection of for sale stuff and they are also pretty happy to show their ongoing restorations usually.

And the problem with browsing is that every now and then something comes along that pricks the "Hmm, maybe..." button...

Just been into CTS and looked at a 1992 205 1.9 GTI they've got. Its top, top dollar at $12,500, but its in great condition, and has got me thinking that it might be a suitable 4-seat replacement for the MX5. Really not the 328i I was looking for...

I was looking at that online; probably $3k over the price of any other on earth but it looks clean as a whistle and surely you wouldn't lose much over a decent stint of ownership.

The one for sale isn't mine, but I'm considering selling it (see other thread for why!).

Took it for a test drive on the weekend, seriously thinking about buying it. The test drive was good - the rose-tints melted away... Yes, its a good car, but its way to tinny and too small for what I need. It also didn't feel anywhere near as immediate as I'd remembered. I've some thoughts on this particular example - if anyone's interested, best to PM me.

Now, this 1984 E30 323i is well worth a look. Took it out on the weekend and its a cracker - just a shame that I'm about 4 inches too tall - don't remember them being that small inside. Seriously, if anyone's in the market for one of these, this should be seen.

6'2" - neck was bent to get under the sunroof, and the steering wheel was in my lap. I reckon there was less legroom in the back than in a 944.

Holy ste! $12,500! Is it made of GOLD?!?! I enjoyed my 1.6 that I bought for £750 a few years ago but not thats ridiculous!

They were great little cars but yes tinny as hell. Not somewhere I want to go back to.
