Need to transport my TVR from Brisbane to Sydney, quotes coming back from Corporate approved removalists are ITRO $1500.

I don't mind too much as I'm not paying, but it seems a lot to me!

Any suggestions? I want someone who will take care, rather than just be cheap!

I got a quote last year from these guys when I was looking at buying a car that was in Brisbane. Quote from Brisbane depot to Canberra depot was about $550. They transported on the back of a car transporter truck. I tried several other companies and they were similar priced.

I think $1500 is way to expensive, better off spending the saving on a good car cover for the trip down. Its much better to drop the car off at the depot and supervise them putting the car on the truck as the TVR has low clearance, this is the better option as once your car is on their truck, it will be on there until it get to the depot in Sydney and you can supervise it being taken off the truck and drive home.

Me too, & I'll take it down the New England, & blow it's cobwebs out of it for you, no extra charge.

Last time I did it was behind the 4.6L rover in my TR8, so I have experience.

Tempting offers...

I'm already driving my other car down, and I'm not entirely confident yet in the car's ability to travel that distance in this climate.

I was having cooling problems with the 8 when I did the first trip to Sydney in it. I could not drive it around Brisbane in peak summer using minor/main roads, EG; Mount Cotton road, with out having to stop to cool down a couple of times.

I did the trip going through Beaudesert about 4.00 PM. Had to go a little gently up Cunninghams Gap, but once up on the cool highlands had a great drive.

Sounds like Colonial has a good route, which should be reasonably camera free. Grab him, & do it in convoy. Should be a great trip.

If you're having cooling problems perhaps you should talk to my son. He added about 60 BHP, & cured the overheating in the 4.6L all in one go, with a new Haltech computer, richer injectors, & a few other bits.
