Agent Recommendation

Hi,
Not sure if this will help but the following three companies got my car through the system without a hitch, I am not 100% sure who did what but here goes:
UK arrangements ie: Pick up / insurance / shipping container to Freo: John Mason International movers
Arrival into Perth ie: Storage while clearing customs etc: Wridgways based in Perth (near the Airport).
Customs clearance: ITM (InternationalTrade Management). Just paid them and they got the car cleared through customs.
Note: It was John Mason that brought everybody together and made the arrangements, all I had to do was send the DOTARS forms to the right company at the right time and pay whoever asked for money.
When Wridgways contacted me after all the processing had been done, I bought a temporary movement permit and picked my car up from near the airport, then booked it into the Vehicle Examination centre in Osbourne Park (there are others) which it failed due to not having the PIP (personal import plate) that you cannot get until it has been inspected????!!!!??? so was never going to pass anyway.
Then I sent off the failed certificate to somewhere in Victoria so that they could make the PIP sticker, when I received the PIP I went back to the Vehicle Inspection centre and it passed.
Then I went to the post office to get the car registered (obviously paid more money) and walked away with new Rego plates for the car which covers you third party insurance, then I got full insurance through Shannons............... now I am happily driving my Lotus around in the sun with the roof down.
Bit long winded but no real issues to be honest, hope this helps a little. If you need any help then let me know.
Cheers

shop around,, look up on internet for local agents and ring them for a quote.
I have found that the 'recommended' agents are the worst, for example my 911 and esprit - the 'recommended' agents wanted nearly $3k in clearance costs, after shopping around and asking questions I got that down to $600
you can use my agents who are
Worldwide Customs and Forwarding
T: (03) 9330 4223
F: (03) 9338 8500
they are not based in Perth but can do the job for you as its all electronic they dont have to be nowadays, especially if its an express bill.
