I'm in the middle of doing a bit of a cafe racer/streetfighter type customising to my YamahaXJR1300 and looking a for a mechanic who can help strip a few things off the bike and put some other stuff back on.

I'm also after someone who can paint a couple of bits.

I found a guy in Gosford but really I'm after something eastern suburbs, lower northshore or inner west region.

This is it now -

This is the seat i need spraying

Got some nice tomaselli clip ons and upside down mirrors for that cafe racer look

Have heard there's a guy on the central coast who does a lot of custom exhaust work for Deus so hoping to track him down.

Any help appreciated.

Matt

Not sure how current this recommendation will be.

But when I lived in Sydney in 2001, I found Sydney Motorcycle Wreckers to be excellent.
I was living in Manly and using a local shop for servicing my ZZR1100, but after popping into SMW one lunchtime (they were round the corner from where I worked) and chatting to boss(?), young guy called Jay. decided to use them for a service and a few bits.

Bike came back better than ever.

When I mashed my gearbox one Sunday evening on the Putty Road, Jay was happy to take my call and try to help. Unfortunately he was out of town that day, but lent me the shop's trailer the next day to recover the bike.

Thanks for that, I'm taking the bike down later, they seemed a good bunch. beer

I found the custom exhaust guy but he didn't want to take the project on for some reason so still looking for a decent exhaust fabricator.

Good luck.

If Jay is there, see if he still has the Honda CB750, hardtail custom that was his daily driver!

Hey Rob, that looks like a fun bit of kit. Love the cafe racer scene, it's the reason I bought the yam, the biggest steel framed bike I could find smile will see you at one of the meets when its finally sorted.
