Moving out to Oz shortly. Want to start looking for cars now. Anyone know the best sites to use out there?

All sorts of ideas at the moment. Those 6l Holden Ute's look quite fun! Need something I can chuck bikes in. Thinking about a VW type 2 as well. Everything seems pretty pricy out there though!

Your'e not kidding. My Monaro would bring treble it's UK value over there.

Now there's a thought! scratchchin

www.carsguide.com.au
www.drive.com.au
These two are connected to major newspapers.
http://www.justauto.com.au/justcars/ for classic type cars, although some of the ads can be very old!

Best one as mentioned would be www.carsales.com.au I reckon.

http://www.pickles.com.au/
http://www.manheim.com.au/

These two are national auction houses for fleet cars mainly.

Carpoint isn't bad also, problem I have is that there are so many sites so you cannot rely on one having everything.. Am in two minds about it all ATM as my Elise would be worth around $70k as oppose to £8k (tops) in the uk..am thinking of importing it..minefield though frown

Agree it can be a mine field but once you have done EVERYTHING that DOTARS ask for it really isn't too bad an ordeal, well I say that I will shortly find out for sure as my Lotus arrives into Freemantle on the 17th Aug.

I will let you know how "bad" it was.

Thanks all. Was also thinking about VW's, Beetles and Type 2's. Assumed there'd be loads for sale but again can't really find a good site. Any ideas?

For VW's, try the Kombi Club. Ebay or carpoint.com.au I have a few Kombi's, they are just as expensive over here as they are in the UK! Sambas fetch 80+, normal split around 40 and bays 5 - 30K... A very small VW scene at the mo but it will grow...
