Before I start with all the obvious options, I thought I'd ask here just in case someone happens to have something available.

We're aiming to arrive in Perth in August/September but with no job sorted we can be pretty flexible.

Anything considered from a caravan to a mansion.

Its a long shot, I know, but worth a try!

Just to completely and utterly hijack the thread, I have the same requirements although for now, probably for a few weeks.

No worries - What are you doing for transport at the moment?

Apartment in the CBD so not bothering for now. Once this temporary accommodation is up, I'm not sure. Still not sure where I want to stay though however I'm sure it will become a bit more clear.

Depends how you feel, but I know a few people "house sit".

Basically living in someones house for a month or two and look after it while they are away. If there are pets, you usually get paid too.

Good points :-
Gives you an idea of all the areas.
Cheap.

Bad points :-
Living in someone elses place.
Moving every month.

I can get details if you like?

All the holiday rentals I know of are very expensive ($100 a night for a basic room, microwave and shower).

We're already registered with the two main house sitting websites. The trouble is that many owners prefer retired people or people already in Australia.
