Importing a Car

I know that their have been plenty of threads in the past about importing a car to Australia but I have a slightly different question.

I am currently in Perth but I maybe moving to Brisbane. If I import my car to Perth and move to Brisbane, is there anything I need to do once I get to Birsbane to register the car in Queensland or can I drive about on WA plates for a certain period.
