Any Aussie MTBers?

Took these two out for a spin last week...



...and thought it would be good to find out if any Aussie PHers are also MTBers. If so, what have you got and where do you ride?

Pic is of a 2012 Yeti ASR5 on the back of a 98 MX5 - local trail is Manly Dam, but pic was taken on the way to Stromlo.

Orange 222, Boxer World Cups, Hope 4 pots and bulb Ti hubs, Easton nano tube carbon bits Sram X9 and XT hollow tech II cranks Durace 11-14 9 speed TI road block on it. Arial industries guide and 38t ring i think. have got some new mavic tubless DH rims to put onto it which should get the weight down by another 500grams. havent riden regularly since 2005 which was the last time i raced. Did the national rounds even trecked all the way from vic to Nanup in WA for a race.

Drove up to Buller on the 8th only to find that they chairlift was closed due to high winds. Was pissing rain to.

any one else in Vic?

Rode Manly Dam for the first time on Tues evening...and will prolly be back again on a weekly basis. Awesome trail!

Other than that, I've ridden in Mt Colah, where MTB's aren't really supposed to go.

Yup - I'm in Melbourne having recently moved over from the UK. Only just got my hands on my bike though, so am looking to find some trails in Victoria!

Lysterfield regularly. Planning a runout this weekend if you are interested

Thanks for the offer Skinny! Unfortunately my mother in law lands at Tullamarine on Friday evening for 3 weeks so any form of personal enjoyment is right off the agenda.

Well, I have rented a bogan Ford Falcon with a silly big engine for when she is over...my one allowed concession... when in Rome etc etc...

Mind you, by the time she leaves I will be wanting to blow off A LOT of steam so I'll DM you then!

Good stuff! I'm up in mildura this week but will be back this weekend for my mrs' birthday itching to get a ride in and might have to sneak one in early doors. We go out on Tuesday nights to Lysty most weeks if you are interested but the lads like to give it the beans so after a hard days rocking you are pretty much toast after it hehe. Let us know when you are up for a meet and we can organise something.

also got a busted alternator on the bike hauler which i need to change out. new Bosh unit sitting there ready to go just need to find time to get it going again.

Went Lysty tonight for a quick blast after work once round the commonwealth games track. It's dry as a nuns nasty! Me and a few biffers are going this Sunday morning if you are up for it mate nothing strenuous more like a few brews and some cake with some lame attempt at riding our bikes haha

Went round the Dam yesterday early morning - not too bad considering the amount of rain but sand on wet sandstone was a bit iffy in places.

Will be planning a day in Canberra at Easter if anyone's interested

Currently belting it down in Sydney, and the forecast is for more across NSW and VIC so where's everyone riding this weekend? Looks OK in WA and QLD...
