Pitstop Bookstore - St Georges Terrace- heads up!!
Discussion
Not sure if many know it but on St Georges Terrace, opposite HSBC and near Woodside, is the Pitstop Bookstore.
I went in for the first time today and its a great bookstore devoted to Cars, Planes etc but absolutely its main stock is car related books, DVD's and has all the latest import magazines. Its a fair size and isnt just an aussie-fanboy store with loads of worldwide brands covered.
There are some great books and from my short foray I couldnt recommend it enough. You might just end up spending a shedload in there though!
p.s James - I saw at least 6 or 7 high quality MX5/Miata books.

You only just found the Pitstop bookshop
It has been around as long as I have lived here so at least 7 years. It used to be on King Street down a side street, through a not very well marked door and down in to a basement type place.
Back when I first found it Top Gear had not been heard of here and Jeremy Clarkson DVD's were $80
I love that shop though, really great selection and prices have come down a lot in recent years. I have spent a fortune in there!
Boffins is also worth a trip for books that require some inteligence to read.

Used to remember it in the basement in King Street when I lived over there in the 90s. I would make special trips in on a friday evening to pick up UK stuff. Now they are into Aeroplanes as well which is even better. It has been around as long as I have lived here so at least 7 years. They will send stuff to the UK for you as well. I have sent the V8 supercars over there recently.
Get yourself put on their mailing list as they pick up some interesting stuff.
There used to be a good CD store nearby too when I was over there, 78 records.
