I wonder if anyone can share some good places to stay and in particular off street or undercover or even better very secure parking for a rare classic.

Unfortunately the badge hunters seem to love the car.

I am planning on driving my car around Tassie where it has been for the last four years in various states of restoration and want to get it home to Northern NSW.

Of course I could transport it but this is sort of its maiden voyage, hence the journey sound more interesting

Doesnt have to be fancy, the car needs a better room than I do

Thanks

Steve

How many kms a day?

Capital cities won't be an issue. It's the smaller places that might cause more problems.

If you have an idea of the towns you'll be staying at give a few hotel/motels in the area a call.

I've often had a friendly hotelier let me park bikes up in garages they had.

I stayed a place in Wagga Wagga - Lawson Motor inn I think - that had open air swipe card parking.

Most motels don't and most country towns only have motels.

Probably your best bet is to stick with places like Albury, Wagga, Orange, Tamworth, Port Macquarie etc so the bigger centres and the bigger chains like Rydges and the like. Or, speak with B&Bs in the area

pack a car cover, out of sight out of mind.

would need to be a serious train spotter to pick the type of car from under the cover and then go and nick a badge.

Happy to host a car and supply a room near Newcastle. TIV can sit outside for a night or two and we have a couple of spare double beds.
