G'day all,

For the SA guys we have been playing out in the Barossa for the last couple of days ( forgettable weather ) and today have a show and shine at Chateau Tanunda from 10

If your in the area drop by and say hello, Nemo won't be too hard to spot.

Regards
Dave King

Well it was a sensational day we had 103 clubbies in attendance of 105 that had made it to the event.

Pics will follow when they become available.

( maybe the all german day of late model bimmers, mercs and porkers at Bridswood drew the crowd ) wink

Back on the road to Sydney tomorrow and looking forward to the Clubbie Nationals on the Sunshine Coast in 2013 and the Not The Nationals in the Vic high country in 2012.

Sorry I should have had my thinking hat on, it's bi-annual with the next nationals being on the Sunshine Coast QLD in 2013, but the " Not the Nats " being somewhere in the Vic high country in 2012.

I have some footage of a slow run up Collingrove after it was called off because of the fire ban that I will post when I am back on a PC in the next couple of days

Only just laugh

I finished and registered it on the Tuesday and set off for Adelaide at 5:00 on the Wednesday morning having done no more that tow it unladen to the next suburb and back, it was quite a leap of faith to then tow it laden for 1400 Km each way. nuts

Nice one.

how much extra petrol do you think you went through toeing that - Sydney to Adelaide i presume.

went to the local clubby breakfast run last weekend, Will C was there aka 007 FSR, and was talking about the nationals in 2013 which is going to be in QLD. Will is on the committee apparently. they were planing on having it in the same week/Month as the Noosa Hillclimb and the Australian Hill-climb championships at Mt Cotton, ie one could drive up and do the two hill-climbs as well as an event at ..... (forgotten the name of the circuit ) during the nationals, all in the space of a week and a bit.

he said something about unreg vehicle permits, was wondering if i could get the hill-climber finished and up there by them.

I went from 6.4/100 in my daily Sydney peak hour commute to 10.2/100 on the trip which is still 3/100 better than the Liberty was.

Nemo drove the Barossa on a UVP ( Unregistered Vehicle Permit ), could have driven it there and back but it is too far if something goes wrong and the weather was terrible coming home anyway.

2013 should be good, I have driven a lot of those roads in JOR's car and they are a lot of fun.

They have said Lakeside is booked in and said Mt Cotton was a possibility if there was enough interest.

I reckon there could be comfortably over 120 cars at the next one.

There is also the " Not Tha's " in Bright in 2012.

Has your subie got the 6spd man box in it?
just wondering how it was towing. would it hold top gear without boosting too much?

looks like a turbo model. A mate of mine has the liberty gt with the 2.5 turbo with the 6 speed man box, also has an MRT power chip in it, goes well. Gearbox still makes the same noises and feels the same as the old 4speed that i had in the brumby.

Brendan H and i drove his troopy across to colingrove last year for the hillclimb champs pulling his fraser behind it on a dual axle trailer. that was fine once you got out of the city, there was a few iffy moments trying to start going up hill on a wet road whilst tring to make it through the lights before they changed. other than that it was fine.

G'day Ryan,

It's the TD which is only available as a manual and towed with ease, the thing to remember with the small modern diesels is to drive them like a car and not an old diesel truck.
