PH Perth goes drag racing..18th-19th Nov
Discussion
Does anybody fancy going to watch the top fuellers either Friday 18th or Saturday 19th of this month?
Can BBQ and have drinkies at my house before we go, I'm only 10 minutes from the strip.
If we get numbers and you give me money I can buy all the tickets and print them out so we dont have to wait in line to buy on the night.

Top fuellers are a treat to watch. 5 seconds or less down the strip with enough noise to make you cough.

Either night would be good, should be the same cars on each night.
Lower formulas can be a bit dull but the fuellers are hugely exciting. Seriously nothing compares, the noise can not be described and you can never quite believe that you just watched a car go from a standstill to 250MPH in 400 meters and 5 seconds. And that noise again...You think "oh its going to be live metal band loud"...No...It is a noise you can feel deep in your chest, through the ground, your ears tickle and and and I dont know how else to describe it.
Double check the website but I think Fast Fridays are on at the moment which is drag racing and on the dirt oval is speedway bikes and cars. You can just wander from one to the other. The drags are normally mostly road cars on Fridays but there is usually some quick stuff.
I am there this coming Thursday to co-drive in the tarmac rally that is on.

Ha! Damn, we should have had a...well, soft because nowhere's licensed but it would still have been good to meet up! Are you an expat? Having caught the WA bug I'm looking to ask some questions...
(needless to say, the thread about importing cars is fascinating)
Tom
Edit: ha, just seen your post saying "Pom"

We had a bar just behind us (we were in general admission, probably 2/3 way down on the East side)
So are you here permanently?
