Hi I was looking for a bit of advice.

I run a business in the UK offering Audio Visual services essentially.

I was contacted by a company in Australia asking me to produce some content for them. We agreed a price and I produced what he’d asked for. I produced an invoice and to cut a long story short he started giving me excuses why he wouldn’t be paying. Nothing to do with the quality of what I’d produced just problems at his end.

I have since discovered that I think the company is in administration. I am familiar with how to check this for UK companies but could someone tell me how to check for an Australian company.

If anybody could then let me know how I could go about contacting the administrators that would be great.

Thanks!

I know nothing about this sort of stuff but you could try searching ASIC: http://www.search.asic.gov.au/gns001.html

ASIC home page: http://www.asic.gov.au/asic/asic.nsf

You could also try the ACCC though they are more of a consumer protection type organisation: http://www.accc.gov.au/content/index.phtml/itemId/...

Tax office? Dunno if they can help: http://www.ato.gov.au/

Good luck smile

You could also try Fair Trading. Depends what state they're in, just Google 'Fair trading nsw/qld/vic...' etc
