Hi Guy's

owing to the nature of my profession, it's looking likely i'll be moving to Australia in a few months to embark on a few years worth of bids and projects.
My question relates to the importation of my non road use, race only Ducati. It's an older model but built up from various bits i've aquired here and there over the years.
Given that this bike is to be soley used on the track, is there any difference in the importation process, and can anyone recommennd any good shippers who would know whats what in this situation.
Alternatively, would it be easier to just strip her down to parts, box them up and throw them in the container with all my other bits? Probably not, but you have to ask!!

I think that the bike import scheme is similar to the car one in that you will need to apply to import it as a race vehicle so you will likely need a race license or get someone here with a race license to do it for you.

I'm not sure about bikes so you would probably be better calling these people http://www.infrastructure.gov.au/roads/vehicle_reg... and maybe looking on the local motorbike forums.

I think that your need a CAMS license (Confederation of Australian Motor Sports) to import a race/non-road vehicle.
