Moving to Perth at end of Aug, need to pack container and was wondering any advice on any extra stuff to pack that might not be on offer in OZ or would be cost effective to bring like electrical items, household stuff or clothing?

Cheers

Any electrical items will need a plug adapter, so maybe a few power boards each with an adapter (thats what I did)

Few crates of decent bitter ? Jaffa cakes ? Bourbon biscuits (preferably Sainsbury's), Ham mini cheddars, bacon frazzles................. mmmmm cant think of anything else. PM when you get here to sort postage to Brisbane

laugh
clap

(I am only joking with regards to beer, but crisps and biscuits semi serious lick)

If you've room, bring everything.

Seriously.

We've got our fridge, 50" TV, consoles and all my old computer/hifi equipment.

We binned a lot of furniture as it was sh*t, and bought new. Some real nice stuff, and some stuff from Ikea to fill a need.

Worse case you flog it here if you don't need it anymore.

I'd be tempted to sell CD/DVDs though, we bought ours and they've gone straight into the garage.

Just hope you don't have an electrical fire caused by your powerboards...goodbye insurance. But to the OP, come with a fresh attitude, this is a great place, but too many Brits want it to be an extension of 'back home'.

I was agreeing that most British expats Ive met have moaned about where they are not being like home, bemoaning the weather, tax system, friendliness of locals, government etc. Bearing in mind Ive only visited/worked/holiday'd in a few places like Spain, Turkey, Italy, Germany, US, Canada, Hong Kong, Philipines, Thailand, Indonesia, Macau, Australia and always end up thinking "why live in foreign lands when you really want it to be just like home?"
And me, I dont miss anything about home apart from the couple of delicasies I mentioned before

Stuff it all in, we've brought our washing machines, beds, TV's, vacumn, bikes etc etc..

But most importantly, use your allowance of one car and bring something decent here.

Clotted cream. Doesn't exist here, nobody even knows what it is.

Perth PHers will buy as much as you can bring.

I have just landed so bring as much as you can as things cost a lot more and it still feels like spend spend spend. One thing I wish I did bring was my cars could have made some money on them.

If you need any advice let me know or a beer when you arrive.

Did you get it this time?

if not, try emailing me through my profile.

It's about me getting something you want to you, that you currently cant get, (biscuits and frazles, etc), in return for you getting something to me that I currently cant get.

Interested?
Yup, got that email and just replied in the afirmative with regards to a parcel exchange wavey
