Guys/ Gals,

As above, I need advice on the cheapest (but also reliable!) way to call Ozzy mobile phones or landlines from London. Any particular methods worthy of mention?

I would need to call from a UK landline or mobile phone. So Skype from a PC is not an option.

Thanks in advance for all responses! smile

We had an option with Sky that gave us free calls to Australia.

Now we are in Australia, we have free calls to the UK with VividWireless.

Why no Skype?

I've been using Skype's call-to-phones option to call people in the US and the UK and it's worked fine.

While in the UK I used a Tru Phone sim that worked out good value, buy in $15 lots spoke for 3 1/2 hours for about $5-7 to an Australian mobile. Just need an unlocked phone, problems initially but solved by customer service (in the US) promptly.

I have just been back to the UK and I have used Vodaphone UK Pay as you Go. They have a deal whereby you buy credit every 30 days and get free international minutes under their Vodaphone Freebies plan.

Top up You get And you get this FREE
£10 £10 credit 60 international minutes
£15 £15 credit 100 international minutes
£30 £30 credit 240 international minutes

I was calling an Australian landline and mobile using this.

THis link should help

I used to use the phonecards you bought from funny newsagents. You call them, type in the code on the card then the number you need. The deals would change so just read the posters to find out which is best at the time.

Trouble with those is that unless you use them regularly they tend to expire. You can find pre dial numbers without having to pre pay

Could you not set up a VOIP phone with a UK company, so you've got a UK area code which actually rings a phone in Oz?
