Hi

We'll be arriving in Brisbane in a few weeks time, and am going to get a Sat-Nav to help us find our way around until we get used to the area (especially helpful for the Missus!)

Can anyone recommend a good Sat-Nav which isn't too expensive and where the best place to buy one?

Cheers

When mine broke about a year ago, I got my replacement from The Good Guys who had an offer on at the time.

I got the Aussie map to fit my UK satnav when I first got here for 70 quid - a LOT cheaper than buying a unit when you get here if you already have a satnav.

May be worth looking at prices in the UK and additional maps against the prices here. Almost certain that it will b cheaper to buy one before you get here. (Dependent on the exchange rate !)

About a month ago I had this issue - Aussie map at $99 from Tom Tom website or new unit. Found that I could get a brand new Tom Tom One for $124 from JB HIFI.

Not got one for the UK, looks like it will be cheaper to get one in Brisbane than buy one here plus the Aus map, will have a look online

Good time of the year to be coming to bris. Nights cool and days still around 20-22 degrees.
I'd pick one up here. JB hifi is definetly the go. I'd be surprised if you couldn't ger one for under a $100.

Tony.

I left a Navman with a friend in Sydney when I returned to the UK, I'll check on the model.

It's been freezing here the last week or so (by Brisbane standards) so pack a jumper in case it continues. Still nice in the sun though.

You had better hurry up Yorkie. If you take too long with all this global warming going on, our Moreton Bay is going to be colder than Scapa Flow was when I was there in 1960.
