Sydney siders,
Just beginning to fancy a bit of trackday shenanigans and wondering who else might be up for this, where would be good and when?

Thoughts on a postcard please.

There are track days most days at Eastern Creek or Wakefield Park, we have one on May 30 at Wakefield for 7 style vehicles.

See here http://www.clubmandrivers.com/events.htm#DriverTra...

Might be a good idea to have a chat to the organisers of the CDCoA track day that I linked because I'm pretty sure tin tops wouldn't get a start.

How about a Sat track day at Wakefield (do they do sat trackdays?) followed by a night out in the glitz and razzamatazz of Goulburn?

Can we get any of the porker boys to come play?

Hi guys, Matt and Andrew.

John here (Porsche 964... Wisemans Ferry...), Stuart sent me a link to this thread, he thought I may be interested... if you'll have me?

Not sure I could better the lap times of that stonking Golf... and I won't even try and keep up with that "No-birds" Q-ship... something fishy under your bonnet Matt wink

Hi John, that 964 is welcome anywhere mate! Sadly (actually rather happily biggrin)the Q ship is being replaced with something less automatic, white and ste!

I'm trying to tie in delivery of the new car with the trackday so will come back keep all posted.

Andy, let us know how you go at EC?

It's quite amazing that you posted that. I was going to reply with a red Italian joke yesterday and I too came up with a Regatta.

Not sure how I can fit two dogs in the Tuscan (well - maybe one strapped in the passenger seat and one on the parcel shelf !) but would be interested. If Nessa is back then she can drive dogs and camper down but that could be 3 months away !

Eastern Creek is bloody fantastic. Even in the wet. It did mean that I could only get the GTI up to 200 odd on the straight due to standing water. Was a VW day so wasn't in my car. Shame.

I'm checking out a few companies that run track days. Plenty of options out there. I'll post them up once I have spoken to some people who have done them in the past

Excellent, looking forward to details.

Red? Italian? Alfasud anyone.... he he

PS. My mates at Spinning Wheels have suggested I replace the air in my tyres with NITROGEN! Apparently reduces unsprung weight on the wheels...

.... hang on... maybe he said helium??

Not too sure if you're serious on the Nitrogen? It's popular in motorsport because it has a lower moisture content than compressed air and as such it maintains a more even tyre pressure and potentially less likely to overheat. nerd

A few suppliers to high end racing series tried to push it into the club racing scene in the Uk but expense and the limited advantage it offered meant it never took off.

Just going for a nosey at this today http://jemsonmotors.com.au/car_911-CARRERA-964-Por...

Hi Andy, EC sounded interesting, standing water = brown pants in my book! How come on a VW day you weren't in your car?

Do it. The car looks very nice. Sounds like me and bob will be the odd ones out in the near future. The trackday was a vw corporate thing. Come and drive their cars around a track kind of thing. But the gti and r32 drivers were the ones put in the r.
