Alloy wheels - change of colour needed.
Discussion
Hi,
My wheels have been hit hard this winter by all the salt etc and the laquer round the rim of the wheel is well past it. This is really letting my car down and am thinking of sanding them down and then respraying them.
Sorry about the picture, its the only close up i have of them. I want to keep the dark grey centre and spray the rim.
Does anyone have any advice? I know people have said to used Nitromorse on the laquer to get it off, then sand down to the alloy below.
One of the wheels has also been curbed, can i rub this down and fill it until its smooth?
Finally (And thanks for sticking with this), what colour shall i do the rim? The centre of the wheel is Gunmetal grey so i was thinking of going for black and then applying a layer of laquer over it to make it shiny and tough. On the other hand i was going to go for the JDM look and have an anodised rim (No rude comments please) but i believe this is more hassle than it is worth.
Any comments or suggestions feel free.
Cheers
