Removing paint from a petrol tank?
Discussion
I need to remove two layers of paint from a petrol tank. The lower layer is red chassis paint and the upper layer looks like its hammerite. The tank is stainless steel and I want to minimize scratching the metal. I also dont wont to remove the tank if at all possible. Any advice appreciated.

They have 'stripping discs' (the ones they used on a Chevy Impala). I used them on my vintage car to get down to the metal and am delighted with the results. I reckon you will only need one 4 inch disc + the arbor if you use your power drill.
