Sand / Media Blasting.

Anyone know roughly what would a bare shell blast would cost?
Any recommendations in the S.E.?

These guys do a lot of rare vehicle body panels and shells, plus work for F1 teams etc. They use plastic blast media instead of the more common sand or steel grit that would destroy a thin component. I used them to do a pressed-metal radiator support frame and they were very helpful and careful with the delicate areas.

They may not be cheap for a complete body but they know what they're doing.

I had a price for them for the fastback - about £750.

It went up though if there was lots of underseal on the frame as this is a bugger to get off ...
