new bodyshell

I've got/had a MkIII Fiesta that I use for competition that was turned into a very large paperweight
The car is going to be reshelled, but I can't decide if to try and get a good road car(as good ones are rare) or use a new shell.

Does anyone know who sells new bodyshells?

simpson brothers salvage in yorkshire sell new,non current bodyshells for all sorts of cars at a good price.the stuff suitable for rallying/racing etc. fetches a bit more though.got to be worth a call.

I've tried Simpson Brothers but they only have 5 doors left
Tried a few others breakers but just at random as I've never had to look for something like this before
Any help or point in the right direction would be greatly appreciated

Clio cup are going to the new shaped Clio for next year. Have you had a look to see if there are any of the old shaped ones for sale you might pick up a bargain. A mate of mine reshelled one of these cars last year and IIRC a new shell with all the bits was less than a K from Renault Motorsport. You can call Mark at Saxon Motorsport and I'm sure he will give you the details (01580 720845). Hope that helps.

I'm after a Fiesta Mk3 shell
A clio is no use, I have about 20 spare wheels, spare g/box, engine, suspension..............etc. for the fiesta.

Could you put it all in a later Fiesta shell? If you can it is worth getting a pric e from Ford to see what old stock they have. I built a Mk3 Fiesta with a collegue with VW running gear that he raced in Autograss sucessfully, it is quite a light shell.

But to much things are differant
Would have to make new engine mounts, subframes....etc
looks very simlar, but completly differant underneith.
Want this reshell to be as easy as possible
Lots of work anyway, with seam welding and welding in the cage!

Having built such cars I understand that it is all much more work than strikes the eye, however having undertaken extreme conversions I would say that making engine and subframe mounts is a relatively small job, especially since it will enable you to use a more available and cheaper shell in the future. Rally cars do get written off and I would consider the modifications an investment. Are you running a CVH?

Think I'll just have to reshell it using a road car
Have to travel to get a good one, to much salt on the roads up here. Propably find some nice old couple that have had it since new and only go to the shops once a week in it
The car runs a 2litre dunnel zetec on weber 45s. it's not short of power for a little car . Embaresses some expensive 4x4 turbos that have got to run air restrictors

It'd be better to find an empty shell though wouldn't it? Much less work. Have you tried Ford directly?
