Anyone removed Armourguard before?
Discussion
Hi guys
Bought my Aero approx 3 months ago and as the factory demo/show car it had all the extras including Armourguard which is now quite marked.
I therefore need to remove it before having the car Zymol'd. Anyone done this before? is it easy? or do I have to send it back to the Main Stealer?
Cheers in advance.

Don't be surprised to see a scratch/line around the edge of the film, where it has been cut to shape on the bodywork.
Not sure if Armourfend still use this method, but I for one find it ludicrous.

Christ I hope that's not true in my case. Won't be a happy boy. My Zymol man (DBvaleting) is very good but cant work miraclers. wasn't keen on removing the stuff I the first place.
thanks for your help.

I understand that Morgan use DefendAll (not AmourFend) and that film is pre-cut to size, so is not trimmed to size on the car. According to the web-site it can be removed by an accredited installer.

Thanks Brian, much appreciated. Although Mole Valley made no such comment though must admit I didnt ask direct, just was mentioning the protection on the car.
Cheers again

No problem, though I did wonder why you wanted to remove it? In my experience, the front of Aero's seems to pick up a lot of debris and I have even had stones that go through the DefendAll and chip the paint! It must be partly the aerodynamics.
IMHO the film does not go high enough up on the wing and I have told the factory so, but no change so far.
Looking forward to meeting you in St. Trop with all the other PH'ers with Aero's..

P.S. I've had a short drive in your car at the factory, but I promise I did not thrape it!

As my car has had some use, it also has many chips and most particularly many 'nicks' on the plastic which actually make it look worse (although I accept somewhat protected). As such I want it removed, then my Zymol guy will be spending two days working his magic on it, then I will have a look and see whether it is worth re-protecting or considering some paint work before reprotecting.

Same here, although if CerelaSurfer does not attend, as has been alluded to, I believe we will be the only PH'ers?? However irrespective of this I cant wait.

Well I hope you did give it some welly! As long as cars are sufficiently warmed up I think it is 'de riguer' to get the revs up at some stage, especially a car that sounds like it does. Anyhow, I believe Colin Goodwin and the other journo's have given it plenty, I just rely on their general mechanical sympathies as above! Doesnt seem to have suffered as yet anyway.
