This is for car shows - the car is clean when I leave home but dust often gets on the car either on the approach or during the day. I think static is the answer. I need the opposite of anti-static spray, or ballon to rub it on 
The Mr Siga brush was £15 and is barely a month old; I wasn't expecting to bin it and buy something else

PS Bodywork is carbon fibre; maybe that's why it doesn't work?
