I’m looking at getting another car.
It will live outside & possibly close to/under a conifer tree.
I’ve seen a couple of cars that I liked, but they have matte paint (not a wrap).
I’ve heard that matte paint can be a PITA to maintain - is this correct & would it be daft to get one & park it under a tree regularly?
I’d be equally happy with a car that doesn’t have a matte finish.
Sure this has been asked previously - apologies if so.

Easier than gloss paint.

My car was PDI'd with a Brillo pad. Literally ruined all the exterior plastic but the damage done to the paint is not visible. And I'd see it if it was visible.

2 and a half years old now and I can't tell a difference from when it was new.

When did matt become matte?
Was it at about the same time that got became gotten?

Possibly - that’s how it’s spelt in the adverts!

I admit that I've chosen not to buy cars that I wanted, because of matt/ matte paint.

Over the years I've lost count of how I've saved some paint damage, birds, vandalism, stone chips etc, by either polishing, filling, wet sanding etc, on modern cars perhaps just months old.

None of those option available.

For me at least, always considered the disadvantage are greater than benefit.

My detailer advised against matt paint unless it had full car ppf. Minor paint damage cannot be easily fixed

Awful stuff, any damage is right PITA to sort, you can't polish out blemishes or minor scratches, almost impossible to smart repair......just don't.

Thanks for responding.
Going to avoid a matt finish - I like to keep things as simple as I can.
