The previous owner of our 93 MX5 did a bit of a heavy handed restoration of the tan 'leather' seats. Ultimately I'll need to replace or retrim them but that is some way down the list of car projects in the GW household so in the meantime I need to live with them.

The main issue is that the paint they have used to refinish them is extremely glossy. If there is a solution to dull them down a bit, I'm all for it. Anybody got any recommended magic potions or elbow grease instructions?

Did they use Furniture Clinic stuff? There's various clear finishes inc Satin etc. IIRC
Did some leather seats in a cream colour and Satin, looked OK

Unfortunately I don't know. But I'm not really looking to repaint them, just dull them a bit.

Cheers. They're actually pretty local to me so I may just call in there sometime.

Cheers. Sounds a good option.
