Hi Everyone

I know Jet Washer comparisons have been done to death but I am wondering if anyone has ever seen a Noise comparison?

I have just moved house and want a decent Jet Washer for my Car only, no drive cleaning. What I don't want to do is pi$$ off my new neighbours with something noisy.

Any suggestions for something that isn't too intrusive?

Thanks

Brian

Kranzle 7/122 Detailers delight, low reving and you can option with 15M or 20M hose if you want to place on a shelf in your garage.

Not the cheapest but very robust and reliable

I would imagine the more powerful it is, the noiser it will be. All the ones I ever had are either on or off - there is no variable setting for the pressure. Whatever you do I would not recommend buying one which has a wind-up hose at the top of the washer. It will keep falling over and the winding feature is useless for such a high-tension hose.

An Avo easy sorts the hose issue - it has an on board hose reel which is great to use and doesnt make the machine unstable.

I moved to avo from Nilfisk and there is no way I would go back

Not heard of Avo (did you mean Ava?). Nilfisk have also started putting hose reel at the top but the hose has way too much tension to be wound easily. I have one with a hose reel at the top and it just topples over everytime I pull the hose. I have to move the machine around with me its that bad.

Thanks for all the replies. I should have added, it's a gravel drive so I won't ever be able to wheel it round, I will always have to lift it and carry it with me around my car. Would this change any of the advice?

I have just looked at the Ava Smart P50 on Amazon at £244. That's a bit more than I really want to spend but if no better alternatives I could go that far.

Cheers

Presumably you have a garage or shed near to the car washing area, even a dog kennel would do.
If so then as above, 15/20 metre hose and leave the washer itself inside the garage or shed behind closed doors, obviously a washer with autostop is preferable.
Kranzle are expensive but worth every penny.

Kranzle all the way for quality, the 1400 rpm motor variants are quieter and more powerful

Buy once buy right, I got fed up with continuously replacing nilfisk and Karcher units

Plumped for the Profi160 and never looked back.

My nilfisk cost £100 and lasted 12 years of weekly use. So a Kranzle at £600 would need to give me 72 years of service!

10+ years ago maybe the quality was different, but now definitely not.

I work for a company that sells both nilfisk and Karcher, even with a staff discount to pretty much cost plus vat I chose to put my money elsewhere….

I was being sort of facetious.

I do sort of agree - I took my replacement nilfisk back and bought an AVA. The AVA is better in every respect, except that the telescopic lance is quite heavy (but I rarely use it), the stubby gun and long hose are excellent.
