Probably less than one year old.

£200k car.

Apparently light bodywork damage.

Parts availability?
Damage worse than it appeared?

Some insurances on high value cars have a clause of new for old on any claim.

The salvage values are very high as people can fix and export unrecorded (according to someone with a licence to salvage) So, if the claim was say £40k to fix using expensive parts and the ins co thinks they can get a great salvage price they right it off....you only have to read about some of the claims management figures for hire cars...I guess a Bentley courtesy car might be charged at £1000 per day...work that out if it takes 2 months to fix waiting for delayed parts?

Because it was the more economical route to go. Might not always be cheaper on the face of it but if on average costs rise above the estimate by x% then you are fixing your costs with a write off.

Googling for the VIN you can see original damage looks a bit more 'realistic'.

This is probably nothing to worry about smile

ETA The Copart link is dead, but this Polish site has the same content. I'd probably ignore the 'current offer 48000£" bit .. https://ucars.pro/pl/lot/248543405-2023-bentley-co...
