Alloy wheel refurb, SE London
Discussion
I would like to get a couple of alloy wheels refurbed (they are currently fitted to a car, not spares). They are not in terrible shape but have some moderate scuffing round the rim and a bit of corrosion on the inside edges of one or two of the spokes. Age related wear and tear plus some careless parking. They are painted silver all over, no diamond cut bits. Look fine from 10 ft, bit sad close up.
Any recommendations for decent job in SE London/Kent/Surrey (at a pinch) at not-crazy prices?
Also - presume the tyres will have to come off, or can it be done with them still fitted? New tyres just about due and wondering whether to get them done before, after or as part of the refurb process.
Many thks!

I can highly recommend Rimtec in Meopham. Have a look on Instagram for their work, they've done a few full sets for me including welding and repairs. Very reasonable, will discuss everything with you over the phone or messaging. Just had one wheel rim refinished the other week (curbed polished lip), done same day.
Tyres will need to come off but they're very good at fitting/removing them obviously, unlike some tyre shops (they actually sell tyres as well). They do have loan wheels available if needed.
Apart from the work they've done for me, I was there a month or so ago (I don't damage wheels that often I swear!!) and I watched them deal with a gent picking up his Jag XKR (old one). He had those lovely split rims on it that they'd redone, the centres were done a dark grey with a polished lip, all the bolts done etc etc. Looked brilliant. When he came to collect, however, he thought they were only going to paint the section with the bolts in dark grey, not the whole centres. I listened to them handle the situation brilliantly, it was clear that they'd explained to him it wasn't possible to just paint the part he wanted (not a separate piece) but he'd misunderstood. To their credit, they said that if he wasn't happy they'd redo them again for free in whatever colour he wanted as he initially wasn't keen on the dark grey. They were very quick to offer it as well, no talking down to the guy or trying to blame him at all, they just wanted to make sure he left happy with them.
Also open on Saturdays which is a bonus.
