Washing Car & Bike

I've bought a power washer to do the patio... but have decided I also need to start washing the car, but most importantly the motorcycle instead of bringing it to someone else... The bike lives outside, so I want to give it a reasonably protective finish and keep salt and grit off her...

My process is:
1. Turtlewax Snowfoam Shampoo
2. Rinse
3. Turtlewax Snowfoam Shampoo
4. Soft Brush & Mitt Contact
5. Rinse
6. Autoglym Polar Seal
7. Rinse
8. Blow Dry

Is this okay? Will the shampoo foam be okay for the third step or do I need something else? I don't really want to have too many products on the go... The way I see it, I can keep a spare bottle for the lance & exchange it for the steps required. A third product would mean I couldn't keep the solutions mixed and will probably waste chemicals...

Some turtle wax shampoos are not very good, depends which one your using but it looks good to me.
Maybe use Autoglym polar wash in its place.

Be careful powerwashing a motorbike. I temporarily killed a Fireblade that way. I know the handbook for my S1000rr advises against it.

Water can be forced into the engine covers/casings etc.

Low pressure.

Thanks, I'm going to work my way through the TW and will probably pick up the Polar Wash after.

This is the stuff I'm using for now, apparently it's good, but only realised after buying, that it isn't disputable... So 5 litres will be gone in no time...

Agreed! I'm lucky that I've no chain drive, but I do keep an eye on the pressure and use the hose from a distance.

Bilt Hamber’s Surfex HD might be better for the bike rather than snow foam
