Exige S1 - Engine cover restoration?
Discussion
Hi.
Posting this here as well as the Lotus forum.
Has anyone any experience of refurbing/refinishing an OEM Exige S1 polycarbonate, ( i think ), engine cover?
I recently became the owner of a mint car barring the engine cover which has some scratches in it and some laquer peel..
I've had some advice that the tint is right the way through the plastic so can potentially sand the whole thing with very fine grade DA pads and then mop polish back to a shine before either re-laquer or poss ppf..
Providing the tint is indeed right the way through then I guess a similar process to headlight lens restoration would work?
Any advice appreciated.
Thanks,
Ed
