Write - off?

Had my first bump in 35 years - low speed and no airbags have went off. I also have damage to the radiator but its not leaking - i drove it 25 miles home. Most of the damage was caused by a massive tow bar.
Do you think this i going to be repaired - 2018 Mini Clubman with a value of £8k WBAC.

My guess is a write off. Probably make a nice auction buy for someone.

Id think carefully about if you want to keep the car or not before claiming.

Definitely a write-off.

Let your insurance company sort it all out. Don't even think about buying it back and getting it repaired on the cheap. Life's too short.

For anyone interested - Car picked up on 3rd Jan for repair and will be delivered back tomorrow. Fixed by direct Line at mini approved bodyshop.

It doesn't take much for a car to be uneconomic to repair these days.

Caught a BBC4 program covering the rise in car insurance recently, two headline items aside from general material cost rises.
- Increase in cost and duration of courtesy car hire, rise in new car prices and parts shortages delaying repairs.
- The cost of advanced driver assistance systems ADAS, including suggestion that for a 'common german car' a new bumper along was £7k!

I guess this car misses both of those things, and or is piggy backing on the increased and expedited use of 'approved used spares' which is the silver lining to parts shortages. I see almost no downsides to this.
