How long before suncream etches paint?
Discussion
We went to the beach on the weekend and I washed the car 48hrs later and there are permanent hand prints in the paintwork that shampoo and water will not remove. Is it likely that suncream (sunscreen) would etch the paint in that time or are these likely to have been there much longer without me noticing?
Thank you
Thank you
Horrid stuff, not much will shift it in my experience so as above really.
Maybe try a light restoration polish first from the likes of meguiars from Halfords.

Your car has developed a slight tan, except where the hand marks are. If you a apply a couple of coats of St Tropez Tan Luxe over the entire car it will disguise the hand marks until the tan fades naturally.Thank you

Thank you. Yes it’s a nightmare, I’d be surprised if it etched the paint in 48hrs but can’t see how they came from any other source...? The baking sun we’ve had probably didn’t help, drying it on?Maybe try a light restoration polish first from the likes of meguiars from Halfords.
