Hi all. Does anyone know if it would be possible to remove these water stains from a sunroof. It overhangs so these beads have been underneath and obviously not cleaned off in years.

It’s from a 1989 car so likely been on a long time! I’ve tried basic cleaners but nothing touches them.

Thanks for any advice.

I'd try Carpro Ceriglass with a rayon applicator. Soft99 Glass Compound is also good (and comes with a built in applicator), but I'm not sure if it's as effective as Ceriglass.

Halfords glass compound was good, but since that was discontinued I've not found anything that comes close to the two mentioned above.

Worst case you can get glass polishing compounds that are designed for taking scratches out but using them lightly will take any tarnish off the top.

Right I’ve tried virtually everything now. Even resorted to white vinegar neat.

I think the actual tint has been corroded. I really don’t know what to try now as it’s factory tint, not a film.

Thanks guys. Looks like nothing is gonna touch it.

It’s somehow corroded the factory tint. I’ve got the machine polisher on it now and I can ‘kind of’ make them invisible after a lot of effort but I must be taking off a layer of something as it’s now really clean lol.

Looks like it’s just going to take a long time. I’m using autoglym glass polish on the machine polisher so probably going to end up doing the whole window inch by inch. Hey ho wasn’t busy tomorrow anyways lol

I have Autoglym Glass Polish and it doesn't come close to Carpro Ceriglass for removing water marks.

After closer inspection, it’s got like a mirror finish on the inside of the glass and the water has corroded this mirror finish. No product would remove it as it’s eaten away the mirror finish.

I got brave and with my grinder I can remove this mirror finish, but it means doing the whole sunroof.

Taken about 2 hours and I’m half way but it’s looking amazing.
