Anyone use salgon?
Discussion
I have a Japanese import Nissan Elgrand that I like, but it was a low grade import. It is really useful to have for extended family holidays and whatnot so I want to do what I can within reason to preserve it…
It hasn’t been undersealed (likely the best option but the previous owner should have when it was a fresh import) but is still fairly clean under there. Typically I don’t use it in the winter but what with one thing and another I did and I dare say it got a bit salty.
Anyway found this Salgon product online used supposedly by the construction industry and got a spray applicator. The intent is of course for the product to do what it says on the tin and neutralise the salt…
Long story short anyone used it before?

I can't speak for that product, but I assume it does what it says.
However, here's what I do every few weeks in winter, and again once spring comes and they stop salting the roads. I spray snow foam undeneath the car and let it sit for a while. Then I take one of those cheap lawn sprinkler attachments and stick it on the end of a hose and shove it under the car. I then run it slowly up and down the length of the underside for about 20 minutes or so, to throughly rinse off any muck and salt.
Come September/October I do a bit of rust prevention. Dynax products are easy to apply to sills and arches and the internals of box sections. I then give the entire underside a liberal spray of ACF 50 to see me through the winter. I have an SUV, so no need to raise the car for this, and so the whole job takes around an hour.
