Hi all,

Been asking a few places, even Ford, about getting a rim repair due to a kerb incident. Some of the people I have spoken to have said they cannot get the wheel back to factory due to the diamond cutting on the edge as it would involve "smoothing the edge.".

Can anyone recommend a wheel specialist with the correct equipment to get the wheel back to factory? I am in London, but will travel fo the right job.

Many thanks indeed!

Lepsons are regarded as one of the best in the business so I'd start there ....

Yep, Lepsons would always be the first place I’d go to for anything to do with wheels. They’re in Kent and pretty much the best in the country.

If you've actually taken a chunk out of the rim, then it may require metal welding to repair. Depending on the extent and location, it may not be possible to diamond cut and get the desired finish. A decent repairer should give a better explanation of what they can and can't do.

Lepsons in Kent is the place to send it. Either that or a new wheel, depending on how fussy you are. Some finishes can be really hard to recreate exactly.

And often the colour of the refurbished wheel won't quite match the others. I have this with my current car, it stands out like a sore thumb and annoys me everytime I walk past the car.

It annoys me so much that I have just purchased another wheel from eBay to replace it, I would rather have a factory wheel with a few curb marks than one that is a different colour to the rest.

Another possibility is to make both wheels on that side of the car look the same. Nobody ever gets to see both sides of your car at the same time.
