Any views on whether this is any good or any other good books or resources for someone looking to make the step up from a fairly basic wash?

Thanks in advance

Probably better to watch some videos on you tube.
None of it is rocket science really.

No book needed.

Depending where you're at it could be as simple as buy two buckets with grit guards and a few decent towels and a good wash mitt and job done.

YouTube is literally full of videos and guides on this sort of stuff smile

yep plenty on youtube , although some are way too over the top imo

bit of common sense goes a long way, hose or jet wash as much filth off as you can before contact , rinse the wash mit after every panel , consider a wash mit for top panels and a another for the lower ones , launder the drying cloths between use

BH Surfex (diluted well down as it's very powerful) and a cheapy 2 litre pump spray then jetwashed will get about 90% of the grime off, making your hand wash a lot safer.

www.detailingworld.co.uk

Will get you all the information you need but be warned it can be addictive and costs £££££££ but well worth every penny.

Having a protection underneath in the first place is paramount.

My routine;

1. Hit tyre bay with APC and agitate with brush
2. Spray tyres with cleaner
3. Snowfoam car (Dry)
4. Snowfoam rims
5. Clean rims/tyres
6. Get into tight areas (window seals, front of car etc) with brush
7. Rinse foam
8. Wash
9. Rinse after wash
10. Dry with drying towel
